A Typical Dinner: Broccoli-Tofu Stir Fry

When embarking on a plant-based journey, there are two mental shifts to reframe around food:

1) Let go of the idea that dinner or any meal should be “meat/protein as a main dish, side of starch, side of vegetable”.

2) Let go of the idea that vegetables are side dishes. Bring vegetables forward to the center of the plate. Or bowl!

Chris has an amazing vegan stir fry recipe. The homemade sauce he uses and the old-school small batch stir fry method on the wok gives the tofu and broccoli a wonderful smoky flavor. We typically serve stir fry over rice, but you can use noodles or no starch at all. The stir fry on its own is hearty and tasty! I typically add more lime juice to mine.

There are a million plant-based stir fry recipes out there. Keep them simple with 2-3 veggies, tofu if you like it, and a simple homemade sauce. Stir fry in small batches.

We do not food shame as part of our Get Healthy With Dr. Adame Program. We guide you to interrogate your current diet and make small changes at a time towards a healthful, plant-based lifestyle.
