Mini-Retreat: Burn-Out Proof Parenting
The goal of our retreats are to promote parent/caregiver health and wellness because we believe that healthy kids start with healthy adults in their lives.
We are thrilled to share that we will host a mini-retreat exclusively for parents and caregivers of neurodivergent children.
The theme is You Can’t Pour From An Empty Cup. Each activity is carefully curated to help you be the best, most well-nourished version of yourself for the benefit of your neurodivergent child.

Mini-Retreat: Empowered Fathers
The goal of our retreats are to promote parent/caregiver health and wellness because we believe that healthy kids start with healthy adults in their lives.
We are excited to invite fathers and male-identifying caregivers to our upcoming mini retreat designed to empower you as partners and to encourage greater involvement in your family's journey. PANDAS/PANS affects the entire family.
Our theme is Navigating Parenting and Partnership in Your Child's PANDAS/PANS Journey
We recognize that following medical treatment is essential. However, during this retreat, we will also explore holistic, non-pharmaceutical approaches aimed at reducing chronic inflammation and promoting parental wellness. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where you can learn and grow together as a family.
Each activity at the retreat is thoughtfully curated to support a father’s role in their family's PANDAS/PANS healing journey.

Understanding PANDAS/PANS: A session led by Dr. Noemi Adame explaining PANDAS/PANS, its symptoms, causes, and treatment options. Followed by Q&A for fathers at all stages of their children’s PANDAS/PANS journey.
Managing Behavior and Emotions: A workshop on strategies to manage behavioral issues and emotional dysregulation in children with PANDAS, including techniques for de-escalation and emotional support.
Mindfulness and Stress Management: A workshop on mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques that can help fathers manage their stress and be more present for their children.
Effective Communication: Teaching skills for communicating effectively with partners and children, focusing on active listening, empathy, and expressing needs and feelings.
The Microbiome-Gut-Brain Axis: Session on the role of high-protein, high-fiber, anti-inflammatory nourishment in reducing chronic inflammation. This session aims to empower fathers with knowledge and skills to foster healthy eating habits for their families.
Resource Sharing: Facilitated networking session for fathers to connect with resources, therapists, and support organizations.

For the tweens and teens Camp Veggie, parents are not required to participate, but they must remain on the Center at Donaldson campus, while their teen/tween is at Camp Veggie.

This virtual meeting is a group session for parents and caregivers interested in joining Culver Pediatrics Center's PANDAS/PANS clinic.
Dr. Noemi Adame, board-certified, PANDAS/PANS-informed pediatrician and practice owner will explain her general approach to PANDAS/PANS. A Q+A will follow.
Please note that up to 5 participants can attend the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, participants will receive an invitation to enroll in Culver Pediatrics Center.

Dustin’s Place is hosting a Star Wars Themed 5 K Race and Family Fun Run on May the Fourth.
There will be Star Wars surprises. You may encounter your favorite character racing beside you.
Dustin’s Place is a non-profit that offers free grief counseling to children and their families in Marshall County and beyond. Our mission is that no one grieves alone.
Culver Peds will be there! We will be racing and passing out fresh fruit (of course!) to the participants at the finish line. Registration is now open.
