Do I have to be a DPC doctor to attend?
While the retreat addresses issues specific to DPC physicians like personal safety for solo micro-practices, all female-identifying physicians are welcome to attend! This will be a weekend of empowerment, recharging, and connecting no matter what model of medicine you practice. This retreat is also perfect for the DPC-curious, to learn to establish boundaries and systems from the beginning to build a sustainable, burn-out proof practice.

Why is the retreat just for female-identifying doctors?
A 2023 study concluded that female physicians experience burn out at a higher rate than male counterparts, due to multiple workplace and home factors. A 2022 study concluded that Female physicians spend more time working in their EHR portal messages because both staff and patients make more requests of female PCPs. Because of the direct access nature of the DPC practice, as well as internal factors, these effects are more pronounced in female-identifying DPC physicians. This retreats provides practical tools to address these issues in a safe space for female-identifying physicians to build sustainable, burnout proof practices.
