Dr. Adame's Follow Up and Ongoing Support in PANDAS/PANS Care

Over the last 3 years, we have had the privilege of being part of the healing journey of over 40 children affected with PANDAS/PANS.

I begin with an in-depth diagnostic process, then blend holistic/non-pharmaceutical interventions with Western/Pharmaceutical treatments.

But we do not stop there.

We offer families with close follow up and ongoing support.

We are there to celebrate wins and joyful moments.

We are there during Flare-Ups.

We are there during low points for troubleshooting.

Follow Up and Ongoing Support

  • Close tracking of symptoms and response to interventions such as with Unhide

  • Frequent check-ins by chat and virtual appointments

  • Visits are typically 1-2 times per month initially

  • The first appointment is a virtual intake, typically 2-4 weeks after enrollment

  • Before the first intake appointment, our team is hard at work at obtaining and reviewing records, intake forms, and previous lab work done. By the time of your first intake appointment, I am very familiar with your child's case

  • Rushing the first appointment before I have had time to review records , intake forms, and lab results is not productive.

  • The second appointment is at our clinic in Culver, IN

  • Most follow ups are virtual after that

  • Frequency interval increases as the child heals

  • Chat messages through SigmaMD app to check in between appointments if needed

  • Group Mindfulness Sessions such as Tapping/Emotional Freedom Technique

  • Flare-Up Action Plan and Support

  • Action Plan and Triggers discussed at first appointments.

  • Acute/Same/Next Day Appointments available for self-scheduling on the SigmaMD app Monday-Friday for acute crisis or Flare Ups or questions. These appointments can be Virtual, Phone Calls, or In Clinic

  • Families can ask questions or send us messages/updates through the SigmaMD chat feature. We typically respond within 24 hours.

  • At the first in clinic appointment, we give families at home tests for COVID/Flu, Rapid Strep, and HealthtracksRx kits for expanded diagnostic testing at home

  • We encourage joining of reputable parent groups such as ASPIRE PANS

  • Connect with existing resources such as AspirePANS, Get Claimable, Alex Manfull Fund, PANDAS Physician Network, NeuroImmune Foundation, PANDAS Network.

  • Goal is to UNMEDICATE whenever possible with close medical supervision and support for a Veggies Over Pills outcome

  • The UNMEDICATE process is methodical and with shared decision-making
